Poetry Reflection
I learned that poetry helps you be more relaxed and also makes you think more about everything. I thought about normal things you just do during the day and also things that you see that you usually wouldn't think about, and that's how I got most of the ideas for my poems. I got the idea for Autumn, a poem I wrote, because I've had a long grudge against fall and writing a poem about it makes me feel better. I think I mostly relied on my writing about the object or thought to make my poems good but sometimes I used repetition like in all things have good. I think my poems were good and expressed my feelings or opinions about certain things. I also think I wrote my poems so that I could just write down my opinions and thoughts about normal things that we as people do. It made me think more and I liked that so because of this unit I will probably write more poems in the future.

I'm glad you liked writing poetry enough to keep at it. From a reader's perspective, I'd say that's a good thing. You do write interesting poems that are a pleasure to read. I would like you to think more about how you go about making choices about what kinds of details and words to use, when to break lines, and so on. For example, in conference you told me that you break lines wherever you pause when reading aloud. I bet there are other methods that you use without thinking about them too much, but it's good to name them and keep adding to your repertoire.
